Arnold Jacobs was recognized as both the master performer and the foremost teacher of wind instruments. Finally, there is the definitive book on his career. Written by Mr. Jacobs' assistant, Brian Frederiksen, material comes from masterclasses, private interviews, previously published writings and contributions from his students and colleagues. Arnold Jacobs died in October 1998.
Note: In the first three printings of Arnold Jacobs: Song and Wind, the final chapter was "Arnold Jacobs' Influence on his Students" containing statements by the book's primary contributors. For the fourth printing, it has been replaced with "Passing the Torch" written after the passing of Arnold and Gizella Jacobs. The chapter is presented here in it's entirety for those who have earlier editions to print out and place in their book.
