Product Description
As a young boy, Rafael Mendez first played cornet in his family orchestra in Mexico, led by his father. He signed with Decca records in 1945 and over the next 20 years recorded 12 LP records. He toured extensively with thousands of high school and college bands and orchestras and professional ensembles. In the summers he was music director for Roy Rogers, Red Skelton and other celebrities that toured the various state fairs. All this time his reputation as a classical trumpeter was unequaled.
