Long time students of preeminent teacher and performer Arnold Jacobs, the CB re-created his original tuba mouthpiece. The trumpet mouthpiece was inspired by that work.

There are now two models of Canadian Brass Arnold Jacobs mouthpieces--the standard model and the new "solo" model. The standard model is the exact replica of the original Helleberg mouthpiece. It is a robust, deep mouthpiece eminently useful as an all-around mouthpiece. Equally at home in large ensembles as well as brass quintet playing. The new solo model has all the same qualities as the standard model, but is just a little bit "brighter" sounding. Attacks can be seemingly sharper and high range is slightly easier and quicker. In total, these two mouthpieces are very nearly identical, but if one's playing is more on the side of quintet to solo playing, the new "solo" version should definitely be considered. The really nice nature of these two version is that they are 100% compatible with no acclimatization time ever needed.
